Need help log files where to find [warn] logs

Says all,im getting internal or 500 errors and friend was using logs to find the problems in my vps,thats really helped,but I forgot to ask where he found them,so maybe you guys can help me.
[Thu Jan 02 21:54:46 2014] [warn] UID of script "/home/root/public_html/index.php" is smaller than min_uid


[Thu Jan 02 22:17:36 2014] [warn] File "/home/root/public_html/index.php" is writeable by group

Logs looked like this,any ideas what file and where contains this or zoc terminal command to display errors? Thank you.

Subdomain Issues

OK, So I own a VPS hosting account with WHM/CPanel.

I have created a subdomain as cdn.domain.com in cpanel.

I can view the subdomain if I visit the URL via domain.com/cdn but I can not view the URL if I visit it as cdn.domain.com. Doing the latter gets me "Server not found".

I do not understand what I am doing wrong

Any help will be very much appreciated

Copied Accounts displaying Old Server IP

I copy mulitple accounts from old server to new server. In Home »Account Information »List Accounts, some accounts reflects the new server IP and some account reflects the Old server IP.

My VPS provider adjusted the quota settings already since I was not able do to "chown" using SSH.

Now, I have updated the group:user in /home.

But in WHM - Home »Account Information »List Accounts, it is still showing old server IP on some accounts causing website and emails not to work. When I logged in to Cpanel as Root, Cpanel displays the IP of the new server.

The DNS on all domains are fine, it reflects the new server IP.

How can I fix this?

Bulk mail lost

Hello, I have some strange problem

I have two constumers that have domain A and domain B
when sending mail from domain A to domain B , its ok ( webmail, outlook)

But the client domain A send bulk mail to handred domains in the same time, ( domain B included), the domain B doesnt receive the mail, We have checked the data base and the mail address is correct.

any ideas? what i have to check.

Invalid root password and without ssh access

First sorry for my bad English...


Well my problem is this:

I have a dedicated and I have disabled SSH Password Authorization Tweak, I do not have a key to access the ssh.

I had to change the ROOT password on my WHM because of a problem I had on my keyboard.

But after changing the password the new password is not working, i has asked the DC to change the password but all passwords are invalid, I tried to use the KVM but I still can not access.

I'm being automatically redirected in the screen to change to a more secure password, but when I click change password get sent to a screen that says that the old password is wrong ...

I already sent a ticket (cPanel support) but told me that without access to SSH can not help me.

There how to solve this problem?

HostKarma RBL

Today I had to take down one of my RBL. Host karma has been really good in the past but seems to have gotten more aggressive which I like except for the fact it blocking all Gmail accounts. Now I know RBL aren't totally 100% but they sure do help. I use Zen, Barracuda, and many others with no issues. I would love to put Karma back online. I have used the bypass rbl check for certain ips. Can someone walk me through please on how to whitelist domain names through whm. I have full root access and whm. Ive tried mail scanner whitelist but RBL seem to still catch it. thanks for help.

This setting is described here:

I'm not really sure how useful this feature is since a greylisting deferral will count towards the limit. It would be more useful if this setting was based purely on the 5xx errors.

Hello !!

I redirect a domain in cpanel.
After i ry something woth this account i delete it but i forget to delete the redirect

Now the domain is ever rederict and i cant remove it.

Whet can i do now to remove it?

Slow Download Speed when downloading backups

There is a strange behaviour in my server,

My server specs:
1 gigabit connection VPS
CENTOS 6.5 x86_64 kvm WHM 11.40.1 (build 8)
1 GB RAM.

standart cpanel install.

Problem is when i speed test my server from console its showing around 250 megabit.

My work connection speed is 50 megabit fiber. But when i try to download a backup from my server it can only reach to 1,5 Mb/sec with is around 12 megabit.

I think something is limiting download speed of my server. Anyone have an idea??

Adding New Server to the Cluster

I currently have a VPS hosting our client's websites and is clustered with 2 DNS-only servers. All are located in US. The current setup is Main Server (Synchorize) >> DNS-only1(Standalone) and DNS-only2(Standalone).

I will be adding another WHM/Cpanel VPS in another location (Asia), to host clients' websites and act as a DNS server as well to cater Asia traffic. What is the recommended settings for this setup?

How change the webmail url in Proxy subdomains

I would like to change the webmail url automatically generated in the config proxy subdomains in WHM.

The generated code in httpd.conf is this for the proxy subdomains:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^webmail\.
RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://127.0.0.1:2095/$1 [P]

Would you like to switch to this:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^webmail\.
RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://soft.domain.com/$1 [P]

The soft.domain.com is an account with a webmail software.

This code is automatically generated and I can not change by editing httpd.conf.

Can someone help me?

SPAM account filter rules.. export?? copy?

Is there any way that for example if i created several rules for a domain ( account level ) and i want to use the same rules with another account.. how can i copy or export this rules? so i wont have to type all the 50+ words again in the 2nd account and use the same rules that i created before.

Rules should be stored in a file or something like that right? can i just copy the file and move it into the new account config? or how does it work?

Hostname and Main Domain

Hi again,

I may not have thought my setup through very well. When I setup my server I chose a hostname based on a domain I plan to use as my primary website:

server.domain.com

I then created an account for myself with the domain domain.com. When I browse to server.domain.com it shows the website I have setup at domain.com. I assumed (and hoped) that browsing to server.domain.com would show cPanel's default web page. The same thing happens when I visit my VPS IP (I only have 1 IP and cannot get any more for this VPS ... DigitalOcean).

I haven't installed any certificates yet, but I am concerned that if it is showing the contents of my main website that it may pull the wrong certificate when a client goes to https://server.domain.com:2083 (or types in clientdomain.com/cpanel).

Is it possible to setup a page for server.domain.com and IP, or at least have them show the default cPanel page instead of my main website?

Change the way Primary Domain Document Root works

Hello All,

Testing cPanel, so far so good.

I have a question about setting up the primary domain and sub domain document roots.

I created an account and uploaded a site to it. Worked fine.
Then I added an addon domain and created a subdomain for it.

However cPanel put Document Root is inside my primary domains root folder. Not good. I know you can adjust Server Tweaks to allow putting sub domains above public_html but that is not what I want to do. I would like to have all of the domains have their own folder under public_html. Like this:

Primary Domain in /home/account/public_html/primarydomain
and all of the other domains as well
/home/account/public_html/anotherdomain
/home/account/public_html/site.anotherdomain

It's easy to add new sub domains like this but the primary domain is not created this way.

How can this be addressed?

Default SHELL for cronjobs

Hi everyone!

I have a question for cPanel staff/developers: is the any way to define default shell (bash, sh, jaishell, etc.) for cPanel accounts cronjobs? I've found the following code in cPanel "Cron" module (/usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Cron/Edit.pm):

Manage resource utilization

Hi all,

Recently I have noted that the HostGator is restricting the resource usage of websites in their shared hosting plan. One of my site is getting 500 internal server error and I have contacted them regarding the same. They have updated me like this :

'" In shared plan if the resource usage goes more than 25% for 90 sec. Server tries to reset your connection but some time you will get internal server error. It wont last longer"

How they are managing this resource utilization ? Is there any default option is available with WHM ?

Unable to create new accounts on enkompass

When trying to create new accounts on enkompass, I am receiving the following error message only with SOuth African domain names (co.za), .net and/or .com domains seem to get added fine.

outgoing TCP traffic to cpanel?

In the logs of our (CSF) firewall I find rules like this:
Jan 7 04:38:54 31.186.175.143 52573 out 208.74.121.62 443 TCP

So our server at 31.186.175.143:52573 is trying to reach 208.74.121.62:443
A traceroute to 208.74.121.62 shows me that it's accessed via the cpanel.net domain

What is the cause of this request?
